Songwriting Is Changing, And Technology Is Finally Catching Up

In an interview with The Telegraph in 2013, Bernie Taupin, songwriting partner to Elton John, spoke about how they often faxed or emailed lyrics and musical ideas back and forth. Taupin struggled to incorporate more recent technological innovations into John’s songwriting process, declaring that “it took a long time to drag this guy kicking and screaming into the 21st century.”
